Two-day Golden Monkeys & Mountain Gorillas Adventure

Start your day early and, if possible, arrange for a takeaway breakfast. Pick-up and departure are scheduled for 04:20. Our driver-guide will collect you from your hotel, a location within Kigali, or from Kigali International Airport. With your packed breakfast in hand, you will head to Volcanoes National Park, aiming to arrive just before 07:00 for registration. Once there, you’ll be assigned a park guide who will provide a briefing before beginning the golden monkey trekking. Please note: the gorilla trekking experience is scheduled for the following day.

Itinerary

Please note: All times are approximate and subject to slight variation during the tour.

Day One – 04:20
Begin the day early and, ideally, bring a takeaway breakfast. You will be picked up at 04:20 for the journey to Volcanoes National Park. Arrival is scheduled shortly before 07:00, in time for registration. A park guide will then brief you before you set off for the golden monkey trekking.

After the trek, check in at your hotel and enjoy lunch on site.

Afternoon & Evening
Spend the afternoon visiting the Iby’iwacu Cultural Centre (now known as the Gorilla Guardians Village). Return to the hotel afterward for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day Two – 06:00
Have an early breakfast and depart Musanze by 06:15 to reach the RDB Kinigi Tourist Information Centre. Registration for the mountain gorilla trekking begins at 07:00.

After the trek, enjoy a late lunch at Migano Café before returning to Kigali, with arrival expected in the evening.
